New York:
The crane behind the reporter "was magnitudes of order higher" yesterday.
If you mean "a lot higher" just say it. You got it wrong, and obviously don't even know what "orders of magnitude" means.

The train station is 30 miles minutes away. The only train that even comes through is a freight train, and you can't jump into a box car any more.
EDIT: 30 minutes, not miles. a bit over 17 miles.

TWC says it might get wet. Basement had some water at 5am, drying now.
Boston is about to get hit, way up there....

I thought there was something fishy about it being in outer space, zooming towards Andromeda.

Also, flagged as adult content on YouTube. Had to rewatch it to see that Mr Winky made the news.

...the over-wet ground surrendered the roots of a tree, which whumped down against the side of my mother's house just before she came home, having decided the worst was over. She'd been taking shelter for about 5 hours in her car, in the parking lot of the town's K-8 school.
I put my shoes on, walked over, and stayed out of the way as my sister took pictures with the camera she'd recently purchased.
I asked to see it so I could upload a couple, but she can't find Kodak's custom mini-USB cord (dammit, Kodak, the port's the same friggin' size as a standard mini-USB!), so, no pics.
We'll know what sort of damage there might be to the roof in about $700.

Perhaps you have a gate to the Nether on the premises?

It's been pretty meh here, overall. I've seen a few pics on Twitter of downed trees and power lines in the area, but from what I can see out my window, the damage was pretty minimal. I don't even think my basement got wet.

Yeah, hopefully it's minimal and the insurance company isn't too much of a hassle.

Who is this "I" person, though? Assurances from a random passer-by with a can of spray paint don't really mean much.
Power went out for a few hours. Back on now. I probably could have stayed connected most of that time, running my modem & hub on the UPS and the laptop on the battery.

Yeah was just a LOTTA wind and rain here for us. Lost power @ 10am yesterday. Still out today so came into work today in Boston to charge up all the gadgets.
