Kaillera sync problems :/

My son is sitting next to me, we both have laptops, we want to play pretty much any 2 player game. We have Mame32 Plus!Plus! 0.119 installed plus a complete rom set (up to 0.143)and kailerra. We both start Mame32 plus plus, I go file>start kaillera server, I start kaillera netplay then I enter my own ip address (found from start>run>cmd> ipconfig | more) then my son enters the same ip. we're both in teh lobby together, I create a game, he joins, I start and *every freaking time* mine will zip along and load and his will crawl along decoding or whatever and we can never seem to get the machines to sync. Anyone got any suggestions on how to fix this? My machine is 64 bit, his is 32 bit but I would have thought that mame32 ++ and kaillera would have been robust enough for this not to be an issue. Please help!

Kaillera is not supported and is actually DANGEROUS to use as it opens security holes on your machine while it's running.
Try MAMEHub. While it is not supported by the MAME team themselves, it's a much cleaner solution that doesn't create massive problems for everyone.

well I never knew that. Serves me right for being out of the mame scene for 10 years I guess! Thanks for the heads up. Will check it out.
