Heh, I have a book called "Electric Blues Guitar" that included a plastic flexible audio record like that. Has a few creases in it but still plays.

I seem to recall a promotion (I want to say from McDonalds) that involved distributing records like that in the newspaper. I've never seen one used for data, though.
