We have finally found the fabled Nifty Kombo version of Mortal Kombat. It's the rarest version left to find, made by the same company that made Turbo 3.1 and Turbo Ninja. It was really expensive ($320). I don't have any money. My friend bulldawg covered it so we could go ahead and secure it before a hoarder bought it, but he can only afford to cover $100 of it so we are asking for help on the remaining $220. So please consider donating something to help out. Even if we don't hit the goal, anything helps. The money needs to be sent straight to him but I will credit you on the DU donations page and I'll credit you when I send in the dump.
His paypal address is [address removed - this is done, there are other things you can help with via paypal if you want, send me a PM for details]. Here are pics of the kit:
We reached the goal. Thanks to:

Edit: Someone has showed up on the ClassicMK boards saying he dumped this years ago and didn't know MAME needed it. It turns out it's a different revision than the one we got though.
Thanks dude. I'll mark it on the post and put it on the donations page tomorrow. If anyone else has sent money, I have to wait to hear from bulldawg to know what has been sent and I think he already went to bed.
Wow what a hack! Impressive. Some day only not this hack will be released and i still hope you will find Ryu V.S. Ken Hack some day if someone heard about this hack send some pictures to me and i will send to Smitdogg.
No. Play the Turbo 3.1 and Turbo Ninja versions in MAME if you want to get an idea of the stuff that might be changed. Basically they are the Mortal Kombat equivalents of SF2 Rainbow Editions / Xiang Long etc. Except the Mortal Kombat kits are way more rare and were all done by the same company*.
*The original versions that use daughter cards are very very rare but you can find hacked versions (made to not need the daughter card) for sale these days for the Turbos easily that just use burned roms
Huh. Yeah it appears the one we got is an earlier revision, indicated by how they fixed the grammar for "youre" in this already-dumped one. I guess it wasn't a complete waste after all.
Not a waste at all. Because of this, it appears that two versions of a very rare MK hack have been secured. I'm sure the way the situation came about wasn't optimal, but I chalk this up to another win for the Dumping Union.
Sorry, only sent $15, I'm towards the end of my pay cycle. Every bit helps though. I don't play this game, but I might give it a try when you release the roms for it. Great rare find guys!
The effects of Sub Zero's freeze are definitely different between the video of the board which you guys acquired, and the "dumped long ago" version that was in that other video I posted.
Will both versions be added to MAME, since the ROMs for the "dumped long ago" version are now on the net?
Here's a video of the "Black Ninja Edition", which they say is somewhat like the Yawdim version (with them there messed up sounds and scrolling problems) but on a different board (?), with all nighttime backgrounds.
Yeah I dumped that board for the author of that video but it hasn't been added yet. Also it supposedly isn't the "real" Black Ninja version, supposedly there was a Black Ninja kit release similar to Nifty, Turbo, etc. but I haven't seen photos or anything. Supposedly the real Black Ninja one has rainbow colored blood and some other silly changes.
