That one did come close, though. The errors there are things a person might miss. Well, except the missing space that created the word I read as "I denty fee aid ass."

At work today we were discussing scammers who actually phone up and say that they're microsoft and they've been monitoring you computer and you've got viruses, they then get you to download dodgy files and delete important ones from your windows directory! How evil is that!

> Department of Treasury Internal Revenue Source
Yes, “Source” is incorrect. Many people won’t actually read the word, as they have decided what it should say before they get there.
> Important information about your tax return > > We are unable to process your tax return
Punctuation is missing. The first one should be a colon, not a period, but if this were a traditional mailing it would be large bold letters without punctuation.
> We recived your tax return. However, we are unable to process the return as field.
People will ignore the misspelled “received” because most of them don’t know how to spell it themselves. There has always been ie/ei rule confusion. Then “filed” is misspelled, with a transposition of two letters that creates another word. That is seen as a simple typo. “…We are unable to process the return as filed” is the expected wording, I don’t see a grammar fault if the spelling is fixed.
> Our records indicate that the person identifiedas the primary taxpayer or spouse on the tax return did > not provided all the required documents shown on the tax form. Our records are based on information > received from the Social Security Administration.
“Identifiedas” is what I said stopped my reading of it, but that’s just a missing space. It makes all other errors more visible. The tense confusion of “did not provided” might otherwise be overlooked, with “has not provided” or “did not provide” both being acceptable. The only problem I see with “our records are based on…” is that it repeats the beginning of the previous sentence, and comparing the two sentences leads you to ask what records they are actually referring to.
> Based on this information, the tax account for the individual has been locked
Other than the punctuation, what is wrong with “tax account” or “has been locked,” and how would they be better worded?
> What you need to do
That would be a section heading on a mailing. Again, it lacks ending punctuation, which people might either not notice or not be put off by.
> Print out the attached notification and list of missing documents, fill it in, add the documents and send > the following information to the adress shown in the attached notification.
In “fill it in,” “it” refers to the attached “notification and list,” which will be a single item in the attachment. “Address” is misspelled, of course.
> List of required documents: > > 1. A copy of this letter > > 2. Notification letter > > 3. A photocopy of valid U.S. Federal or State Government issued identification.
Oddly, I’m being told the colon should be replaced with a colon.
> Keep this notice for your records. If you need assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us
Do you have a problem with what is very common wording, or the lack of actual contact information? Again the period is missing.

William Gibson and Bruce Sterling were talking about machine/biological shenanigans in the 80s. It'll still be news to most folks when they wake up with a pussy instead of a dick or something. Especially when the process is wireless.

If I wake up with a pussy instead of a dick on day, I'm going to play with it ALL DAY! That is after I clean up the piss in the bathroom floor.

Well, you see, if I had a dick one day and then the next morning I didn't, I would unknowingly stand to piss. The piss would go all over the floor, making a mess. However, I'm glad to report my dick is still here and intact!

Glad to hear it! Be sure and let us know the second the situation changes. Or, you know, don't.

Hahahahah. In the mid 90s, I was super hot on the idea of hermaphrodites. A chick with a vagina and a cock boning another chick....oh, man.
Imagine being one. You'd actually have four ends of pleasure. Ahem, this is of course academic.
