various news and notes from RB

RB provides a couple renditions of the old JoseQ Emuviews news-style updates (no wip photos involved...yet). *j/k* ![](//www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tomato.gif)
6/14/2011 http://rbelmont.mameworld.info/?p=654

Video clip, taken from a working Warp Speed cab, has been uploaded by ranger that shows what gameplay is like from an actual cab. The video clip was online earlier (on Youtube) when cab was up for sale at the time. The clip was eventually taken down and is no longer online.
Good to know Warp Speed will be working even though it probably won't have audio (discrete components used for audio sounds on pcb?) emulated for some time.

I like it. I'm glad to see people working on the project. I was following some of the posts and it seemed that MAME development was dwindling down to nothing. I know it has slowed down but I hope it never completely ends. I look forward to seeing Warp Speed working.

I must say I'm happy for the MAME side, however the whole MESS thing is making me patiently expect a Saturn softlist in a pair of years or so. :P

That was the first place I recall reading Dexter's posts before they made their way to MAME.net site. twisty might still have Dexter posts archived. Need a Dexter tribute web page hosted on MW just to show old examples of classic Dexter lingo goodness.
*o/t*
iirc Way back in spring 2000, when first discovering emulation, I first visited Arcade@Home, and then went to another site (forget the name) saw screen snaps of some of the 1980s games I played. Told a relative of mine that evening.
He figured things out faster than I did and he had MAME up and running a day before me. I grabbed Carnival (1980) and Gremlin's Frogs off of Emuviews web site the following day and relived arcade memories of playing Carnival and Frogs for several hours. Probably best computer moment time ever had of playing those games......
and then over the past several years emptying wallet, when possible, to find and buy paperwork or whatever so missing audio sounds could be emulated for some of the 1970s games. :-)

Thinking about Archaic Ruins got me thinking about the old passworded news site Node 99 in turn, which got me thinking about #emu and VGB back in 1995. I've been doing this a lot longer than I remembered, as I was definitely present for the huge reaction that the first public build of Virtual GameBoy.

Normally I would not do this but I feel I have no choice. We need to be able to use our message boards and with your continuing harassment we can not. Here is our latest development build. I ask that you do not distribute it, and indeed we will seek legal action if you do. Now please leave the development team alone so they can work. If you have issues with the Modeler team please talk to them on thier boards. We can no longer use Gridle's auto banning software as its using to much of our host (ZTNET'S) bandwidth.

Sure i downloading the file, but the worried about what i found later when i see the downloaded finished
it was mame in there and another mamedevftp with all the info and dll that mame distribution have
but,i write that because what i was worried happens
Norton Antivirus
Bo2k trojan in mamewd executable and another viral in the other mameftpdev executable, but strange some dll are new in that mame, and working in mame i have
let's the right have win
mame team you stupid, you really expect that nakashiro warez Crew open executable or whatsoever exe or dll files without have an antivirus look first in them?
Nicola Salmoira you bitch
,but strangely both board on zdnet accept my username and password, and that's true that he leave Gridle auto shit
but antivirus not want these files to be executed, try another
scanning first filez then e-mail to us
we accept all,but first think what files you send,we intercept any virus inside,we have all over ten antivirus
,and the Nakashiro Crew just happy for notice to playing mame latest and 60 fps!
ppl here what happens with these muppets and clowns of emulation, sure they have mame 60 fps without bo2k,or other trojan, but they don'tr want to give to you,and my post crearly reports that

I have been around since about 1996 or so. I also remember a lot of the old sites and also comp.emulators.misc newsgroup. Last I checked the newsgroup as 90% spam. Some of the old emulator news sites were great...

MAME already is multithreaded about as far as you can reasonably go. Cothreads is just what I said: it allows correct emulation of cases where a device can halt the CPU mid-read.

smf fixed the issue with laserdisc games crashing on startup, so e.g. Cube Quest will be fully playable again next time.

Yeah I think your rite. I started around 97 so I have been here awhile too. LOL. Yep the AH and VGB sites, also had to check out for wip roms too.
all the drama with AH website ahhh those were the days! LOL!!
Mame was a marvel back then and it still is today, the memories and laughs along the way, Dexter posts and Dexter mame. Yep they deserve a place in mame history.
BTW THanks for fixing the LCD games !!!

OMG!!!....Daves Classics, the very first emulation site i ever visited back in 98.. ![](//www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/awe.gif)
I also remember the great site shutdown and Rom purge of late 1999 thanks to that video game trade body taking legal action..
