MAMEDev mission statement, making MAME modular to preserve MAME's mandate
#255994 - 05/29/11 10:47 PM

I'm posting this in behalf of someone else who can't log in or create an account here.

[redacted]

Note by Mr. Do
If the original poster can't login or create an account here, he's probably already been previously "taken care of" for similar reasons.

Apples vs oranges, anyone who understands what is good for MAME will understand the difference.

There really is no discussion required.

I'm sure there is a very good reason why your friend can't login or create an account here. Whatever he says.

I saw this message on the other board

I don't agree with this, but I admit he has a point in some of what he says.

B2K24, It would be better if you could enclose the text in a quote box, thus to make things more clear. Because it is not your text. Also, maybe you can mention the nickname of the author of this text.

And something about mame being modular. This means that a new plugin system should be developed, so that third party plugins can offer functions like the HLSL filters. I don't know if this is possible or if it violates MAME's license and MAMEDEV's wishes.

Either way, as the devs said many times (directly or indirectly), they don't care about our wishes. They do what they think suites MAME best.

Oh, and I forgot: Leave MAMEUI alone. We need it.

Wow, so B2K24 is Abracadabra? That sucks, I'll start the ban process at bannister.org.

No, the text is not from B2K24. Someone else wrote it.
