How cool is this
#254361 - 05/12/11 02:38 PM

So I'm teaching myself how to play Linus & Lucy on the piano and was wondering about the drummer's technique. Turns out he is still around, the only surviving member of the trio that made the classic piece 45 years ago. I got his e-mail and just for giggles sent him a quick note yesterday morning, not expecting much.

Lo and behold, less than two hours later he writes back with an answer to my question and demands that I don't give up. Whoah.

My daughter's concert was this week, and they played Linus and Lucy. They did really well.

Nice. I wish I started playing much earlier, like in my teens. Alas, I had other priorities back then.

That's awesome. Now you know how I feel when I contact classic arcade game programmers, and something good happens from it.

Dude, I'm in the Navy. If that was what I wanted, it wouldn't be a problem, trust me. You know how many times I've been to Pattaya Beach?

That just happens to a piece of music that I've always liked, but have never been able to play (I'm actually an ex-trumpet player, not a piano player) That and Rhapsody in Blue... goddamn that piece is hard.
