Garage related gripe...um I mean update...

Just because you've figured mid April for shingling the roof does NOT mean you have mother nature beat. I'd planned for 40-60 degrees, well ready for a shower or two. I did NOT plan for 88 mind_numbing shingle_melting degrees, humidities that stifle, and a wind at 30mph...

Did one half of the roof this weekend. Stopped at that point to examine my sunburn and hand blisters, said "Fuck it", and went to the park with my wife and kid. Turned out decent considering the conditions.

That roof is too steep for my fat ass to be on! I'd be too afraid of sliding off the edge and having that fence shoved my ass. Roofing makes muscles hurt that you didn't even know you had. One of the guys that helped me with my roof said a the toenail on his big toe turned black after working on my roof! It took me almost 4 days to be able to move again to do the ridge vent.

Yeah, it's amazing the amount of help you lose the minute they see the pitch. Just three of us this weekend, two roofing, and one hauling material 5 pieces at a time. The tar paper and shingles were so hot by mid afternoon my palms have blisters on them. Unbelieveable for April. Supposed to snow next weekend, so it should be a lot nicer to work up there I guess....

It's only 10.5/12 (Yes I meant to do that), so I didn't find it too terrible. Still not as great as the 6/12 and 8/12 on the house though..
