2011.04.04 Warning: MameUI .142 is being released but it is still taking 1.2GB in memory when loaded, this is compared to 215MB of .141.
The x86 version may crash out if used w/out sufficient resources. The DEVs continue to investigate, feel free to help out if you spot something in the code in the meantime.

Will test it immediately, I'll tell you what occurs on my PC in a few.
Thx John...
-----
OK just launched it, as you said, longer to load, it takes here 1 111 168 K in memory, just the user interface, no games loaded... Trying to launch Metal Slug : Launched OK, not long, but 1 250 664 K in memory.. running smooth... Just quitted the game, memory got back to 1 128 740 K (higher than just after launch) Tried to launch Metal Slug 3, memory error... Relaunch Metal Slug, np, and quit : 1 130 364 K, again higher.. :/
My specs: MAME32 x86, Windows Vista 32bits SP2, Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P7750 @ 2.26GHz 2.27GHz with 4 Go of memory...
Well i'm aware that it won't help, but just to confirm.. Regards, MAMu_

Open Mame UI i have 67% Memory closed 38% equals 29% it's a lot compared with the u3 version. MALA only 2% memory to play the DOS\Win Version. Please people becarefull. I will use MALA until the problem is fixed.

In true (I suppose) these version taking a bunch of RAM only in Windows 7 because of it's last monthly update who causes an overcharge of RAM.

See my answers and specs, same under vista, not a windows 7 issue... at least I don't think so.

I would think if it were a Windows issue, it would show it's ugly, memory hogging head using MAMEUI 141u3.

MAMEUI takes a good ten second to load on my P4 2.8ghz since the last couple/few revisions.

Likely the influx of all the mechanical games in 0.141u1 - it bumped the total game level at least a thousand. More gamee, more data == slower startup.

It's also the memory issue, it's 4-5x beyond the prior load time as things are iterated into memory.
As far as my non-programming understanding goes from listening to Aaron and Micko it's something to do w/ the memory allocation for driver options on each driver being 100K and the destructor is not clearing it (?) if the option is already in the list.

Indeed it's a DOS prompt in modern Windows.
But their "Geek trivia: Windows 98 is the last version based on MS‑DOS." is bullshit. Windows Me was still based on MS-DOS although they tried to hide that fact by removing the files needed for booting DOS in text mode. This was possible by copying those files from a Windows 98 CD though.
