Could the West finally be achieving the final phase of Enlightenment?

Elightenment: an intellectual and scientific movement of 18th century Europe which was characterized by a rational and scientific approach to religious, social, political, and economic issues.

I'm sure someone will be ready to jump in with an answer but is there a difference between intellectual enlightenment and Spiritual enlightenment?

I'm just asking because the word "enlightenment" by itself isn't exactly specific.

Even though.... There are those that consider themselves to be 'Spiritually Enlightened' by going through trances and meditation, even coming to the conclusion that they themselves are God... When all it is is demonic deception.

I probably shouldn't remark on something I haven't researched fully (nor have a 1st hand account of), but w/e.

There is a buddhist saying: if you see the buddha, kill him.

I don't talk about enlightment. I talk about sensitivity and perception. What do I feel/sense, and what does it mean to me and my understanding of the world?

Of course, the article isn't talking about enlightenment, either.

Consider it high comedy....sincere tragedy....whatever...don't take it personally.
