For Twisty...

I just thought I would let you know that I was bored, so I just installed Windows 98 SE in a virtual machine. VM is like a time capsule. Kind of funny poking around something you haven't seen for years. I'm glad that I'm running Windows 7 now :-)

I'm primarily using Win2k these days, although I may have to (grudgingly) switch to XP Pro so I can get my cam drivers installed (the USB stack is different between them).

The ironic thing is that you've probably got a decently specced machine you're running Noah's OSes on there, while I'm running Windows 7 on an AMD Athlon XP2000+ box! (remember them?)

I was using the same CPU but I swapped it out for a 2400+

I gave my old Athlon XP 2400 box to my daughter to use. I installed Windows 7 32-bit. It seems to run as good if not better than XP did.

The thing we found at work with Win7 on older boxes is that it does run well compared to XP, as you say, provided you have 1Gb of RAM or more - 512KB REALLY doesn't cut it!

Lately, I've been running TinyXP, but don't really notice a dramatic improvement in performance, so maybe Tiny7 isn't necessary, either?
