In the ER from 7:30 pm to 3:30 am
#247161 - 02/22/11 06:11 PM

with a baby whose temperature was 105.5

What a nasty place, the ER waiting room is. And how many dregs wanted to say hi to my baby... hello... he's lethargic and CLEARLY not up for "playing" with you... even if you didn't wreak of alcohol and weren't wearing yesterdays dirty laundry.

He's doing fine, thanks for your concern.

I've never had a child with such a high fever before, so my pucker-factor was set on high.

Crikey. I've heard that 105 isn't as harmful to babies as it would be to an adult, but that is still mighty high...

Hope the little one is OK.

Good news.

Our 12 year old hit 102+ a couple weeks ago. Our pediatrician has a 24-hour help line that we usual hit first and if the temp doesn't drop by the next day we usually can squeeze into his pediatrician's schedule. No fun visiting the ER.
