The tape was from the 80s - got a bunch I've gone thru to see what's on them. Saw this and had to preserve it before I tossed the tape. I think it was recorded at EP hence the low quality. The reason I taped Carson that night was Vanna White was appearing. I had a crazy crush on her back in the day.

LOL, nice one Sammy. My fingers are also damaged from ~30 years back. IK+ on the C64 was the main culprit.

I can never get my TV card to work with Media Center or VLC. the best I get is blurred video with no audio, damn MPEG chips

Are you saying you need some video capture software?
If so I use Debut Video Capture http://www.nchsoftware.com/capture/index.html#101 I know I didnt pay for it or get a hacked copy but I cant see if you have to pay for it now as my work connection keeps blocking me from the DL links.
I've converted loads of VHS tape to my PC using this and a cheap USB video capture device.
If I want to watch TV through my TV card I use GBPVR http://www.gbpvr.com/
