Would like to back up my DSL modem settings...it's getting up there in age and should really make a hard copy of settings....anyways, the PPP ID is shown, but the PWD is one I've forgotten...I've tried downloading a couple from CNETs download site (figured they're as reliable as any) but Norton (provided by my ISP) keeps killing the downloads the instant they finish ("Warning - this is a security violation! Destroy! destroy!")

Why not disable Norton temporarily, download the files and then reactivate it?

That'd be too easy ;-) Actually I found one I'd used before and had on a USB drive called "Password Spector Pro" or something like that...but it didn't work with the DSL setup screen and/or Firefox...didn't try it with IE (my therapist told me to avoid IE otherwise I may suffer a complete mental breakdown resulting in additional physical damage to my already "modified" PC)
I shoulda have thought of that, but my coffee hasn't kicked in...ended up calling QWEST and resetting it. It's insane...there's the PPP password, the qwest.com password (for an email I don't use) a "q.com" password that's used durig setup...and another username/password for their "Qwest Installer" app which loads Norton...
