Kept online... I dunno 'bout those guys, but mine evolved slowly over time, each step in response to neccessity. I'm guessing Dmala threw his together in a day.. because it wasn't there one day, then it was.
By the way, D... you got fire insurance on that house? One zombie burning in the sun gets too close and you got trouble.

Yeah, mine went up in a few hours. Triggerfin helped a lot with labor and materials. I totally owe him a beer once they get implemented. I think mine went up so quickly because the design is one I've been tinkering with in offline worlds. Once I had the materials, it went together pretty quickly. > By the way, D... you got fire insurance on that house? One zombie burning in the sun > gets too close and you got trouble.
Burning zombies and skeletons don't spread fire, as far as I know. If they did, every forest in the game would be alight on the second day. Creepers, on the other hand, are the bane of my existence. I've already had one blow out the back of my house while I was trying to put in windows, and I got jumped coming out of my front door the next day. That one put a nice hole in the front yard, but didn't damage the building.

You do seem to have several craters in your front yard. No, only lava and burning logs/nether stone can spread fire. My walls are now log, so just as threatened.
The pics posted by Gat are from a world stored on the machine running the MC server software. That's local to him. Single player stuff is all local storage, at least for the downloaded game.
Player skins are stored on the minecraft.net servers, which is why they're missing lately. Now that they've almost moved to amazon, already suffering outages, they're going to move again, to rackspace, I think it was.

You guys use any texture pack? Doesn't look like. I switched from Painterlypack to John Smith's to Pixeludi, but only because 16x16 packs don't need additional modding (liking Smith's the most). And mods? How about Betterlight/Bettergrass/Mo Creatures? I still have trouble getting Wild Grass to work, besides displaying no texture.

The server is unmodded at present, and any that use additional processing power would be bad for it.
I liked BetterGrass, but haven't tried it. Is the latest version the mod responsible for turning dirt green rather than adding grass to the sides of dirt blocks? I saw that in a couple videos, and really didn't like that effect. BetterLight would probably get me killed, I tend to watch that light grid closely. Mo' Creatures... well, maybe. But a mod that actually adds things is more likely to break and possibly ruin the world when MC updates.
I personally haven't looked for a new texture pack since the 1.2 update killed the ones I had.
