has this guy gone purist apeshit or something? right off the bat, all of the function mapping seems to be gone (savestates, etc) and you can only map the controller buttons. also, the dialog boxes are all strongarm now, looking for .sfc and i can't even get it to load files labeled .snes like the older versions could...
edit --- used snespurify on the rom folder, and now stuff works. still can't find the mappings though...

I think he's gone a TOUCH overboard, but.. *shrug*
Here's the situation, straight from his own mouth.
Really, this ends up hurting those who want the extra functionality removed quite a bit. ZSNES is pretty well dead in the water with their rewrite already having taken several years, and SNES9X is pretty crufty to put it mildly. I'd mostly switched to BSNES PC-side, myself, with one exception case.

You need the real DSP chip dumps to use anything DSP-1, SuperFX, etc.

Just use the 0.73 QT Build

The last QT Build (using the QT UI that has all of the features) is 0.73. You're not missing out on much in 0.74 unless you really like the two new ST-0010 and ST-0011 games. Plus, Byuu has dropped the Gambatte gameboy emulation for his own implementation which is still a work in progress and less complete than the emulation in 0.73.
On the BSNES Message board, King of Chaos compiled this build: http://www.mediafire.com/?xyh9nc09h6krpwj
Byuu is looking for someone to take up a build that has the features users are interested in so that he can focus accurate emulation.

> You need the real DSP chip dumps to use anything DSP-1, SuperFX, etc.
You only need the the roms for the following special chips in 0.74:
DSP1 (everything but Super Mario Kart and Ballz 3D) DSP1b (Super Mario Kart and Ballz 3D) DSP2 (Dungeon Master) DSP3 (SD Gundam game) DSP4 (Top Gear 3000) ST-0010 (F1 Roc II) ST-0011 (Japanese chess type game)
The SuperFX chip, SA-1 , S-DD-1, OBC-1, S-RTC, and SPC7110 do not have rom data inside of them.
Only the CX4 (Megaman X2 and Megaman X3) and the ST-0018 (Some other Japanese chess type game) remain to have their ROM information extracted.
Also, BSNES will default to use the DSP1b rom for all DSP1 games. This is generally OK, but it does make the plane crash in the demo mode of Pilotwings. You can create an XML file that BSNES can use to direct it to use the plane DSP1 rom, but I haven't delved into that.

It's rom code so they can't be linked to here.
