My Japanese is poor yet but the more i'm understanding about it, the more i get why sometimes they talk funny. If anyone visits places like danbooru or gets to watch subbed and translated songs on YouTube, you may notice sometimes interpretations look nonsensical or incoherent. As my slow progress in Japanese advance (learning new verbs, understanding in practice how particles work depending on its position in a sentence and overall how to read kanji), i notice many interpreters skip the topic of the sentence because in japanese it uses to be more than obvious.
Something as simple as a full sentence like 私は猫が好きです (watashi wa neko ga suki desu - i like cats) gets shortened as 猫が好きです (neko ga suki desu - like cats) and you end up wondering what or who is the speaker talking about. All because everything before the topic maker particle は gets missing.
It's just like english speakers trying to talk spanish. Most talk funny because they're not used to conjugate a verb depending on the pronoun, yet we use to omit pronouns because it gets obvious with the correct conjugation of a verb.
The more you know, the more you understand.

The TL;DR version:
Japanese are lazy.
