That video/mash-up would have been PERFECT for a music video party.
In college, I lived in this old house with a bunch of other guys... we used to pile up like more than twenty TV's on a wall, and used a vhf broadcast box to send a video feed to them all... and we hosted these huge music video blow-outs.... back when music videos were new.
For great songs that had no music video, we'd make our own mash-ups using video from current movies, commericals, whatever.
You got me diggin for those old tapes... and I found New Order... State of the Nation... I used news feeds regarding Gorbochev's coup in Russia to make a music video for it. Now I'm digging for my analogue converter... I'll post on Youtube when I find it.
The memories!!! Those parties were awesome... we had to use police tape to rope off the perimeter of the yard to hold all the people in, because the cops said they'd cite us if we didn't. They were parked outside on the street arresting underagers who stumbled into the street. How drunk do you have to be to continually stumble into a street knowing theres a cop sitting right there waiting for you to do it? We used to get hundreds upon hundreds of people... basically a rave before I knew what a rave was.
The vid part is a bit lazy (lots of footage and picture reuses, lack of Lennon video despite its availability, no mouth sync) and amateurish (overuse of effects your grandmother would use in a slide show) though. But yeah the music part works.
