The cubs will win the central division.
Angera will come back for a visit.
There will be a substantial earthquake in the upper midwest.
...all I got right now.

The Cubs will win the central division but at THAT moment the stadium will be destroyed by a substantial earthquake. Luckily though, Angela will be spared because she decided to skip the game to go see the new Zooey Deschanel flick instead.
She will then swing by on the way home to pick up some stadium rubble to sell on eBay.

And one more year before the world ends. Y2K was just a warmup.

If not, you are here by anointed a reasonable facsimile. Smit will be by to hand you your street cred allotment shortly. Keep up the good work.

Quote:
What is so interesting about the context of this verse is that we are told that Judgment Day and the coming of Jesus Christ will be "as it was in the days of Noah," because immediately after we read that "no man knows that day and hour," Christ says, "as it was in the days of Noah, so shall also the coming of the son of man be." This comparison with the coming of Christ and the end of the world with how it was in the days of Noah is a consistent teaching in the Bible as in Luke 17:26 where we read once again, "As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the son of man." And similarly, we read, in II Pet. 3:6-7, "Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, are reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men." Through such comparisons between the judgment of the flood and the final judgment of this world, it is clear that God wants us to look at how it was in the time of Noah in order to learn about how it will be at the second coming of Christ and the end of the world.
After reading that passage, maybe a good 'ol rapture is just what this planet needs.

It's pretty damn scary if you ask me that so many religious people can't wait for the end of the world to come. Whether it happens naturally or at the hands of man, it's what they're really looking forward to.
How is this normal behavior? How can they show sadness, empathy and grief for starving children elsewhere in third world countries yet be excited for the demise of non-believers?
I don't get it.
Reminds me of a Bill Maher quote:
"People like Bush and Palin simply cannot think clearly because they're in a big, scary, brainwashing cult, and it warps their thinking so much that they're actually horny for the end of the world. And that is not someone I want with the nuclear codes. So, remember that video, and remember that Sarah Palin said --and I quote --"I think I will see Jesus come back to earth in my lifetime."
To which I say, "Hasn't Jesus suffered enough?"
