Tron Legacy: "A virtual-world worker looks to take down the Master Control Program."

Way to write a synopses on a movie you clearly didn't see first.

"I don't need to see it... I already saw it 20 years ago."

Saw it Sunday in 3D IMAX. The technical achievement was intense. However, the story had issues. I liked it a lot, but in the end I was slightly disappointed - it made me feel like I had watched The Matrix Reloaded, in a way...

Unfortunately I have to agree. Several pieces from the old movie missing/skipped. We got robbed on the laser action. I did like the recognizers and the disc battle but feel it could have been better. Liked the old school light cycle. WTF is that a digital pig for dinner? Then off to bed? Oh well. And pissed they didn't bring back Bit.

*Easter Egg* If you look closely on the shelf in Flynn's hideaway apartment thing, you'll see two geometric shapes. Clu even picks them up. One is Bit saying "YES", the other is Bit saying "NO".

It was kinda cool they brought back the Solar Sailer, and a version of Sark's Command Carrier. And "Edward Dillinger Jr." played (uncredited) by Cillian Murphy? Setting up for a sequel!

So that's what Clu was picking up. Goes to show I should have re-watched the original before seeing the movie.

Ahh good eye. I must've been playing around with my glasses during that scene, doing the with/without comparison, or I must've blinked or something. Will have to wait a few months until it comes out on teh blu-ray to see it. I did like the concept footage (very first trailer) and hope they will include it as a bonus.

I could be wrong, it could be Bit from Tron, and Byte from Tron 2.0 (game). But I doubt it - the game is now considered "non-canon".

I like that when Sam turned on the power at Flynn's, the jukebox started playing Journey "Separate Ways" just like in that MAME intro vid. Couldn't have been a coincidence. Must be a MAME fan in there somewhere

Possibly.

Journey also contributed two songs to the original Tron soundtrack - Only Solutions and 1990's Theme.

I believe they both play at various times during the arcade scene.

I do love that MAME intro video tho'. Classic.

Just saw it today. The best part was Olivia Wilde in skin-tight pleather.
