touchscreen games in MAME (megatouch XL, etc)

hi guys,
i've been out of MAME for a few years now, but i was considering getting an HP touchsmart PC for my parents since they love those touchscreen bar games (megatouch, merit games, etc).
what is the status of these games in MAME? do any work correctly with a touchscreen? i see that some are included, but i don't know where to go to find out the current working status...is there any way to find a list of currently working touchscreen games in MAME?

Wouldn't a touchscreen work like a mouse? In other words, if you can play those games using a mouse, then configuring a touch screen shouldn't be a problem.

is that how it works? makes sense.
i'd still need to determine which of those specific touchscreen games that they enjoy can actually run without issues in MAME...not sure where to find a general list?

AFAIK most of the Megatouch and the Midway Touchmaster games work pretty well nowadays.
