Problem mame keeps loading same game

I've just finished putting together a bartop cab (just needs painting) but all of a sudden I've had this major problem with Mame. It keeps loading up the same rom (1941) regardless of what rom I try and load?
I've deleted all the files and reinstalled it and the same thing happens??? Its just loading the same game (which happens to be the 1st rom in the list over and over again). Whats also curious is that Maximus Arcade doesnt now see Mame at all.
Any ideas?

You best bet is to open a command-prompt and try to start MAME manually. Versions 0.118 or later should have a built in menu you can select the game from, provided you have your rompath set correctly (which it sounds like is fine since you are running 1941).
Type "mame (gamename)" ("mame pacman", "mame gauntlet", etc) at the command-prompt when you are in your MAME folder. If they work, your front-end is at fault and you should consult the author.

Sorted, I suddenly remembered that I'd reconfigured the minipac keys before this problem started. Just reprogrammed to default keys and all is fine with Mame.
Still not sure whats going on with maximus though as its still not showing. I'm sure a reinstall will sort it out though.
