Newest mame working on mac?

Hey guys! I own a mac, and basically I have been running MameOSX on it. The downfall of that is that the latest version is from 2009 and doesn't run my favorite game (Run N Gun 2).
Is there an other option for a native Mame for mac?
Thanks!

Run and Gun 2 was upgraded to working status in 0.135u1 and the latest Mac-compatible version seems to be SDLMAME rather than MAMEOSX.

# What about MacMAME?
MacMAME is now dead and has not been updated in more than 2 years. If you want a solid MAME for the Mac that’s not command-line based you can try SDLMAME with one of the many fine frontends listed above.
# MAME OS X?
Same deal – after a promising start Dave Dribin only updates the project intermittantly[sic], leaving SDLMAME as the only up to date MAME on the Mac. SDLMAME also doesn’t have the compatibility problems with e.g. ProTools hardware that MAME OS X does.
Edit: Fixed my stupid don't-read-webpage-properly text

I just got into this whole MAME thing, but this is the SDLMame build that I am using, which is both up to date and seems to work correctly for me (I'm using the 64 bit build on a i5 based mac with Mac OS 10.6.5);

I was just going by R.Belmont's site, as I am still under a tired old Windows XP (which can't even compile the standard 139u2 and 139u3!).
And I'm also blind apparently, as that SDLMAME version I skimmed past was for Ha3eMD, not MAME! (Previous post has been edited to fix mistake)

Current MAME source builds out of the box on Macs if you install Xcode, or you can get binaries from sdlmame.parodius.com as mentioned.

Ok, well I understand I need to use that from Terminal? I don't really know how to..., I never used Mame without a GUI before.
Can someone explain or refer to a guide?

There are also several front ends available, including MAME Plus GUI which gives you the same UI style as MAMEUI has on Windows.
