Clean (MAME) screenshots of Fantasy Zone II DX (System16c board)
#223704 - 06/06/10 06:39 AM Attachment: fz2-compare4b.png 22 KB (4 downloads)

Just check this site...it's clearly MAME-shots (MAME 24bit png format)

http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/fantasyzone/fantasyzone2.htm

so someone succesfully ripped roms from Sega Ages Fantasy Zone Collection and merged it into MAME System 16 driver ?

**it's definitely NOT coming from windows demo version (only featuring stage 1) or PS2

No. They are not MAME snapshots - at least the one you posted isn't. This isn't really emulation news either...

Eh, could be from PCSX2. The PNGs don't have the MAME ID tag, as Tafoid noted.

Also, high-end capture equipment can produce what look like clean emulated screenshots but aren't (this has happened on System16.com several times).

Even my crappy USB capture card can do that. All it needs is a really good tweaking in software.

Your first post and you necrothreaded to link an unapproved build of MAME and a program to rip ROMs from a commercial title. I think that's a new record ;-)

Also you can play it in a bootleg in MAME.

Thanks

But I think, fz2dx is a 2008 game and I don't understand why mame don't support the System16c driver, the program to extract the tool... well, all playables games in mame are dumps... or not? you must have the original game to play it in mame, then why no fz2dx????

I'm sorry but I don't understand you...

To play fz2dx in the official build of mame I must put the fz2dx roms into shinfz and rename the files????

No. shinfz is a separate game. It is a game that was recently added to MAME. It is a Korean bootleg System-16 game. There are two games selectable: Shinobi, and Fantasy Zone 2 Deluxe. It does not use the same ROMS as fz2dx, because it is a bootleg.

(Hopefully, that translates correctly).

No. 3 games are selectable. Missing game is 1st Fantasy Zone with Time Attack mode.
It is new and original game of this bootleg? No. This is secret mode of FZCC.
So both ROM images are 99.99999...% ripped from FZCC.

And don't forget, FZCC was released in 09.2008 (I guess ripping tool and emulation driver are after 2009)
Therefore, I NEVER trust this bootleg has been released in 2006.

And Mame support this bootleg and not support the oficial fz2dx and fz time attack??

MAME supports games that were released officially in an arcade.

Even though fz2dx is an official Sega product, and it runs on System-16 hardware, using emulation, on Playstation 2, it was ONLY officially released on PS2.

The bootleg was an actual arcade game in Korea. It was probably made by a company that extracted the roms from the PS2 version anyway.

I'd support ripping out of baseline MAME, with all the bickering going on over it. Sadly, some people cannot enjoy the little gifts that happen without demanding more. Unfortunately, the idiom is true: "Give someone an inch and he'll take a mile."

No, no, no, no, no...

You don't rip something out of MAME, because one brand new person posts on a forum with questions/complaints.

I was VERY happy when the bootleg showed up, so that I COULD run the game in MAME.

There, does that balance out the bickering?

Sega was made a few official machines with the game for the Shooting Games Festival

I doubt support this bootleg itself right now due to the aforementioned reason.
Therefore, it doesn't wonder that shinfz is removed next version and re-added in 2012 (again, I guess it will be in 2009 or later).

> not support the oficial fz2dx and fz time attack??

Official is PS2 version. NOT Arcade. And FZ2006 and FZ2006II are BOOTLEG absolutely.
But SEGA has made "real" system 16 board version of fz2 for FZCC-release event all the way.
So it will be supported if someone gets. But it's very hard because there (Only 3 boards in the world!) are NOT released as Arcade and sold to any operators/users.
FZ time attack is completely original game of FZCC and I don't hear any "real" system 16 version.
