Afterburner II graphic glitch, since when?

I've noticed a thin slice of sprites aren't appearing in the bottom left corner (noticeable on clouds in attract mode).
Can anyone let me know which version of MAME doesn't have this issue, as very ancient ones I've seen videos of on YouTube appear fine.

Looks like you will have to determine yourself when this behavior was introduced, by trying out older versions untill you hit the latest/newest version this was not yet happening in.

Actually I just dug back and the glitch was there as long ago as MAME 0.122 from 2007, so might be a REALLY old issue.
Maybe something like Mame32 0.37b13 shown below lacks the bottom-left glitch, but that vintage MAME has many other issues instead!

So you're stating that 0.37b13 (*not* Mame32 but *official* mame) is the newest version in which this did not occur yet ? You're sure ? You did the homework and tried newer versions that that ?

No I just saw a video of that one. I checked versions back to 0.122 quickly. I could dig further later on.

Ok. Come to think of it, it might also help if anyone can find video's of the actual real PCB in action (instead of anything emulated), to see if this was the behavior of the original hardware (and therefore correct emulation, instead of a bug in mame).
