Well I'm a returnee to Mame having built my own tabletop cabinet 15 years ago but my knowledge is rusty
Am setting up mame on a A500mini running mame 2003plus in a sideloaded programme called pandory500.
I can't get a couple of roms to work:

The 1942 series (43 etc) give a reply of 'some files are missing'. i seem to recall there may be a system file required for these games but cant find any reference online.
i also cant get 10-yard fight to work - same message.
Nb have tried various versions of the same rom but same issue.

You're using a very old MAME version. You should use a rom manager like clrmamepro and see what files you need.
