Twitter is now closed off to non Twitter users at this time which means less viewers seeing any emulation related updates unless wanting to only show other Twitter users only. The past various emulation updates on Twitter accounts are still there, but less visitors being able to view any future updates.
If wanting to still remain relevant by a wider audience of viewers, switch to Mastodon or some other similar platform. I had expected this would eventually happen and be like a Meta type business decision with Facebook and Instagram.
The Twitter business decision affects a lot more than emulation. Promotional and commercial announcements
will get far less attention unless everyone is all logging on to Twitter.
A lot of N American pro sports teams used Twitter accounts to reach mass audience that might be Yankees or Mets fans wanting to see some games vid clip highlights that might be viewable on fans websites or community groups. That stuff is all gone since Musk is working at ending Twitter.
Time to jump ship and head to Mastodon or any similar site that operates similar to what that scumbag is trying to eventually shut down.

Yep on that, but it also means commercial businesses including sports teams now have to start from scratch and relocate to other similar operations in case they still want to catch attention of non Twitter users to inform of promotional events to attract fans to home games etc. The decision to be closed off will now mean commercial interests trying to market products or promote events going elsewhere.
One good side is all the disinformation campaigns that was viewable on web surfing is now blocked off on to Twitter accounts only, meaning lots less views. Whatever is left on the Twitter management shot themselves in the foot, but if that means less disinformation campaigns can be viewed, a tolerable decision then.
There still might be some tweets visible when surfing on web, but to read will require logging in if the person also happens to have a Twitter account. Lots of busy users are not always going to be on Twitter all day.
I predict Mastodon and other places to replace Twitter usage eventually by end of this year. More Mastodon accounts, goodbye Twitter.
I believe a couple of either MLB and NFL teams may have already seen what has happened and will be either expanding to other social media sites that are still widely open and fully viewable now that Twitter has closed the open door access to non Twitter users or users not logged in. Already some posters on my favorite sports site have indicated that their favorite teams have opened Mastodon accounts within past couple days since the various sports teams marketing staff probably knew this would take place with Twitter.
I hope my favorite MLB team Pitt Pirates will be doing the same move later.
After the crap that happened with 4AM and his Twitter account last year, I am glad 4AM had already moved on to Mastodon.

You can now only view 300 to 600 tweets per day with a free account. Elongated Muskrat really is trying to kill twitter, or he’s making decisions while high again.

Iirc when reading about Blue Sky in some older posts on Democratic Underground forums, former Twitter ceo Jack Dorsey, the one that left Twitter which enabled the Twitter board to sell Twitter to Musk, is behind Blue Sky.
The DU commenters in that thread with that news post agreed that Mastodon was the way to go at the time.
I agree also. No need redoing the same thing eventually all over again with Blue Sky.

I am already seeing some sports teams Twitter accounts appearing with black screen with error messages
showing “Rate exceeding limit….”
And those are actual pro sports teams official Twitter accounts such Yankees, Mets, Pirates, Giants in both MLB and also NFL.
Expect those accounts to be eventually dropped over next several weeks. Businesses and government run operations won’t be putting up with this stuff. Time to relocate to another site that isn’t run by an egomaniac.
One could guess Musk is intentionally doing this as a favor to countries that are dictatorships such as Saudi Arabia. Probably some money changing hands behind the scenes to defray monetary loss.
Twitter was used by common users and had to be shut down by those in power, dictators, oligarch run governments etc.
Maybe NASA should rethink about awarding contracts to SpaceX in the future? Should cease doing business with a questionable, but possibly mentally unstable individual?

Applauds Google. And also Disney Corp. ‘s lawsuits against the Fl. Governor and the various GOP legislature members trying to remove legal binding contracts that were created back in 1960s. I might not be a fan of Alphabet Corp (owner of Google and YouTube) and Disney Corp. , but these are times where I will root for them this time around against likes of Musk and crazy GOP legislators. The past reasonable GOP legislators are gone and replaced with crooks like Santos of N.Y.

Twitter always had specific issues when first started such as various Islamic terrorist organizations and other unpopular groups causing problems and the staff did try to catch up and quickly pull plug whenever a new account would surface. Iirc when Jack Dorsey had taken over Twitter, they did get a bit better to some degree from news reports I had read. Some new management staff members were hired to ensure as best possible to
improve Twitter in hopes to prevent stuff like phony accounts, unwanted garbage, and fraudulent activity to be best prevented as possible.

Although Twitter had to catch up to troublemakers, the hired content management staff supposedly did make inroads in minimizing damage, but there were still issues, but not as extensive as previous times.
When the sale transaction happened last year, many of those employees that were hired to improve Twitter were eventually fired or forced to quit because of excessive demands by the scum bag that bought the company. The staff that had the capability to run Twitter were ousted over past several months.
The sale never should have happened, but after the Twitter board forced Dorsey to resign, the board chose to sell and be bought out and Twitter will be eventually become a distant memory.

btw:
As posted before, the specific reason for posting in this forum was because a few MAME wip updates were on Twitter tweets such as last year when Sega Megumi Rescue and Marble Madness 2 wips were initially shown as tweets. MAME users along with everyone else that are not Twitter users had a chance to view updates without the policy at the time. I am suspicious as for how long the decision will be before Twitter policy will revert back to closed limited viewing.
If anyone does future emulation updates and want to show specific future MAME wip updates go with Bannister.org website as first choice or any website or media site that is not currently operated by a seedy character that can’t be trusted.
