I don't know if this is a known issue, but when paying Joust, I noticed this graphical bug when it displays the high scores. Running the latest .251 version of Mame

Doesn't happen here, at least not at the initial start up and high score screen.
What version of Joust are you using? I'm using Joust (Green label) joust.zip
Also, I did notice the message saying that one or more of the ROM/disk images are incorrect. The game may not run correctly ... maybe this has something to do with what you are seeing?
Also, try without a bezel and see if it happens.

Weird. I am also running the green label joust rom. I disabled the artwork and it still has the graphical bug
Okay, I seemed to have fixed the problem. I renamed the hiscore folder to test if it had something to do with the hiscore ini file saved in there, then re-ran the game. Sue enough, the graphic bug was fixed. I renamed the folder back to hiscore and re-ran the game, and the bug was still fixed. So I don't know. Really weird but it's fixed now

There's a few games the hi score save makes graphics glitch but i forget which 1s i did report last game it happened on though
