Is there a way to find out via mame command line for example which new arcade systems have been emulated in the last 3 years?

No, read the whatsnew.txt versions for each version of MAME since the version you last had. Exactly three years ago would have been MAME 0.207: https://www.mamedev.org/oldrel.html

Hi Stiletto / AntoPISA
I probably worded my original question incorrectly, as it probably translates to what new arcade games have been released in the last 3 years.
What I meant was I would like to understand what new arcade hardware systems have been emulated in the past 3 years+ such as Sega System C-2, Namco System 2 ... etc in chronological order to appreciate the progress made in MAME.
This is more difficult to determine from the whatsnew.txt.
