Space Fury problem

Hello friends,

I would like to report a problem in the "Space Fury" game. In the latest versions of MAME (I've tried 0.238 and 0.239) the game does not behave normally and there are strange slowdowns starting from the second stage where you get an upgrade. The problem exists in all the ROM's different revisions A,B and C. and it is impossible to play in the normal way - both the spacecraft and the enemies slow down (almost freeze) for two seconds and return to normal speed for two seconds and repeat.
Is this a known issue? Will this get fixed?

btw ,if the fix is by making a new revision (D?) ,Could you please,also fix the pitch of the synthesized voice of the alien? in revision C it is too high than the arcade original.

Confirmed. Thought it might have been the netlist sound code which imposes a substantial performance hit; but it happens at 100% emulation speed.

Are you serious? Do you actually think that games are emulated in MAME by "making revisions" to the game itself?

I'm just an old-school games player and I don't know much about the technical aspect of emulating. I just noticed the oddity in the gameplay and reported to you guys.🙂

I wouldn't rule out netlist. Astroblaster runs almost 100% for me with 0.239. Sometimes it drops to 95, 98 for a second.

But it's very laggy. I used to play this game a lot in my local arcade.

I switched to 0.223 (before netlist) and WOW what a difference. I can play the game. And it's always pegged at 100% all the time.

I've checked the game performance in the latest MAME (0.253) and
the problem still exists.
