MAME on Linux Mint: Game opens and then closes

I'm using Mame on Linux Mint and have 4 games here: Double Dragon, Daimakaimura, Gradius and Pac Man. All of them work fine except for Daimakaimura which now opens and closes automatically. I made a quick video showing it off:

It's strange because the game used to work, but I changed something I don't remember in the configurations and now this happens, making it impossible to play. What should I do to fix it so the game will work again?

Try running it from a command prompt, output there may give some clues as to what has changed or is missing.
Also, that Daimakaimura doesn't start up with a maximised window like the others suggest there is a daimakai.ini or similar with different settings than in mame.ini. Running from the command prompt with the -verbose switch will list the INIs read.

Thanks for trying to help. I searched for that daimakai.ini but couldn't find it anywhere. What I did find was a mame.ini, so I deleted that but it screwed the emulator up, making it unable to create .ini's anymore. I didn't know how to fix that so ended up reinstalling the whole OS.
Then after recovering things, I did some testing and found out what was the culprit. Seems like changing anything in a game's "Configure Machine" kills it and then it never runs again. Not sure why this only happens in Linux, you can do it on Windows just fine. So I ultimately had to reinstall the system twice in the same day (lol). Good thing I have a SSD and Linux is lightweight.
Lesson learned: never mess with "Configure Machine" on Linux ever again.

You reinstalled the entire OS, when you all you had to do was type "mame -cc"? I can and do change settings in Configure Machine all the time on Ubuntu. There's nothing about that that breaks anything in Linux.
