editing ini files

I have accidentally deleted the Track X setting in the Input(general) settings. What is the name of the ini file where these settings are saved? I'd like to get this fixed without having to delete and reload MAME.

You didn't say if it was one game or all of them.

if one game:
cfg\[name-of-game].cfg

if all of them (global setting):
cfg\default.cfg
