Project Support Engineering Space Out?

Reminding users about the findings of Kee Games Crossfire many years earlier from which there was some info about the game, but not much until more stuff surfaced and Crossfire was eventually emulated in DICE (Adam Bousley and Rich R.)

Another obscure game has recently surfaced. PSE Space Out.

Currently no flyers of PSE Space Out.

And unsure if Keith was aware of the existence of the game. Maybe Keith was aware of the game.

I was not aware of the game myself which is why the game is added/documented to the PSE.cpp game list even though it is currently a guess of whether the game uses a CPU or not. PSE coinop video games were non-cpu games which is why Space Out has been added to the list in the source file.

The reason Space Out is known as a PSE brand game is because of the company logo printed on the game marquee as shown in cab photos.
-- It's very hard to make out but someone noticed the PSE logo in the lower right hand corner of the marquee. The shape is identical but it would be nice to see it up close to confirm.

video playback with my phone. There is no sound, or if there is it is very faint.

While on topic part of mentioning Keith and his site...

The Nutting Associates section is worth reading. Recently able to get specific paperwork needed to help emulate Nutting Associates non-cpu coinop video games Table Tennis and Ricochet in MAME sometime in the future.

The Ultimate (so Far) History of Nutting Associates - Part 3
http://allincolorforaquarter.blogspot.com/2016/06/the-ultimate-so-far-history-of-nutting_21.html
[2] Another true color video game that some sources claim was produced in 1973 was Kasco’s Playtron – a game in which a whale ate small fish. Only two prototype units were produced, however, and it is unclear exactly when they were made. Nutting's Paddle Derby, Table Tennis, and Table Tennis II also appear to have used true color. KLOV lists Paddle Derby as a 1972 release, but gives no source for the date, which is almost certainly inaccurate given that Pong was released in November 1972. The release of Table Tennis was announced in the June 1, 1974 issue of Cash Box. The Model numbers of Table Tennis II (751) and Paddle Derby (752) imply that they were released after Wimbledon (model 730). An Atari financial document lists Color Gotcha as an October 1973 release, but it is possible that they were just assuming it came out at the same time as Gotcha – though all other release dates in the document seem to be accurate.
[3] No copy of Watergate Caper or Missile Radar has ever turned up and it is unclear if the games were ever produced. Game flyers include only crude drawings along with a bare-bones description. Cash Box confirms that Watergate Caper was on display at the 1973 MOA show, but it is not known if it was ever released. -

Front of cab. Take note of the white color printed PSE logo on lower right side of the Space Out marquee.

A close up of PSE Space Out cab. Take note of the control panel's led display used for both player one and player two.

> The owner has released a video. It seems that it's on a Maneater PCB stack with some heavy modification via wire jumpers. Possibly an altered sound PCB as well. The PC Board # on the serial number sticker on the cabinet is noted as "6-21-78" followed by initials, probably of the QA person. That's probably good enough for use as the release date in https://github.com/mamedev/mame/blob/master/src/mame/drivers/pse.cpp until more info becomes available. ——-
Looking forward to another round or two of updates with PSE source file. Maneater ROMs being supported would be.ideal or better yet Knights in Armor ROMs.
