I had to use an SNES controller in my left hand since you need access to 5 buttons at all times. This was uncomfortable and reading about the beatings the trackballs were taking during testing, I ended up switching to a PS4 controller. I'm a huge proponent of having the right controller for every game but this may be the one exception. I really hope that the later joystick version surfaces one day but I doubt that will ever happen.

I honestly love the game but I'm also a huge fan of all things 90's Midway. The game plays extremely fast which will certainly scare off most people but I love how much fat they were able to cut out of the game of baseball and still keep it mostly in tact.

On the negative side, there are certainly instances where I'm not sure which fielder I'm controlling. It's also hard to position your fielder to deal with fast line drives. The speed of the game does show its downsides in these instances. There's some heavy keep-scores-close like the other Midway games. Typically, I'll go up something like 9-0 in the first inning but a few innings later the CPU will rally back and even things up.

Still, I have been playing through a season and having a good time. You get a free game against the American League All-Stars when you defeat all the teams. After that, you start the playoffs which is what I am up to now. Not sure how many games you have to win but I am 2-0 in the first matchup.
