Yeah, these mods where they transplant a Beetle body onto a front-engine chassis lose a lot of the soul of the car.

I'd say its still a vw chassis and the engine is still in the rear due to the fact of working on bunches of them the first thing that happens when you lower them is the rear wheels go way negative or in at the top. Thats due to the swing arm suspension in the rear with the transaxle set up.
Look at the various pics and notice how far in the top of the rear wheels look, this is why I hate seeing a lowered vw. Thru all of these years no one has yet come out with a kit for the swing arms to correct this problem.
