Multimouse
#388166 - 10/12/20 09:33 PM

I enabled multimouse. I'm having trouble when I plug and unplug USB device that has a mouse device. It shuffles the numbers around and I have to reset the inputs. Is there a way to avoid this?

So, after I make the file (which I haven't done yet). How do I launch the file? Do I have to name it something specific?

You can name it bob.cfg, then edit mame.ini to load it under "core input options".
Look inside the ctrlr folder for examples.

Not really, the XML you wrote is invalid. You have a closing tag for a "port" element, meanwhile there is no opening "port" tag anywhere in the screenshot that you posted.

ok, this is the type of help I need...How bout this???

I'm pretty sure that:

mapdevice device="VID_D209&PID1501" controller="MOUSECODE_3" /
mapdevice device="VID_D209&PID1501" controller="MOUSECODE_3" /

is referring to my two steering wheels which MAME sees as one mouse (X and Y). That's why they both are being mapped to Mouse 3 (fingers crossed).

Well that didn't work
Do I need to do something with newesq or port? MAME won't even load, so I assume I have a syntax error somewhere.

I figured this out the hard way, after hours of attack this from all angles.....you had it wrong Sune. It's ctrlr mousefix not ctrlr mousefix.cfg

minor detail!

"the hard way" means you figured it out and learned some new things along the way. That is never a bad thing.
