Have you actually played it? The original Gals Panic is the most fun Qix game ever, even without background images. IMO none of the sequels hold up as well, although some of the two-player modes in S and S2 can be fun. The Gals Panic S series are not so much “reveal the picture” games, they’re more “contain the enemy” games. They’re definitely interesting. Mahjong is another topic entirely. Remember a lot of them were medal games, so gambling without being legally regulated as gambling due to technicalities. Some neo geo carts of course too and also found a bargain Gals Panic II pcb . You're right, it is quite fun and it even has localized speech effects, lol.
