Great work as always RaspBear.
Damn this cab had character. I'm guessing that instruction strip on the monitor is lost to time?

Nice Mr. Do, that's a pretty simple instruction card fortunately!
RaspBear, do you want to recreate that? Otherwise I can do it when I get around to creating the overlay for this one.

I always do some research before a restore. And I already found that cpo with instruction strip on Flickr ;-) "Straightened" strip attached. Let's split the work: you do the bezel and text part of the strip and I recreate the Trog and Dyno outlines in vectors. OK ? The CPO is also worth recreating, problem being that even if we straighten the pic we will never be sure of actual proportions.

At this point we should also get a decent pic of the sideart, couldn't find any with enough quality/res so far.

Sounds like a deal RaspBear. I can start work on that tonight (and hopefully finish).
For the CPO, I think that will have to be your domain. I don't really know Illustrator yet.
That front coin panel is awesome too. But I'm guessing with that angle it would be hard to work with though.
Papashine and I were chatting about doing a special set of overlay assets to recreate the original speaker grills and so forth for this one, because it was a fairly unique looking cabinet.

Found slightly better images of Trog and Rex in the Trog operations Manual. Trog and Rex outlines SVGs done and available on shared drive. Being white on transparent you won't see anything unless placed on dark background ;-)

I took a shot at it tonight. Great work RaspBear on the vectorization.
Let me know if anything seems off. I applied a little noise and blur here to make it look as if it were printed on paper.

That text is perfect; love the paper grain; great work!
Concerning colors Trog and Rex seem to be part of the bezel (printed on plastic?) and their color is not the same as the paper. Looking at available pictures the color seems matte white/very light grey (even may have some bluish nuance). Paper color: personally I'd make it slightly less yellowish as most of that yellow component is clearly due to age. Unless of course we want to show a realistic aged strip.

Here is an updated version with RaspBear's suggestions incorporated:
EDIT - Updated to make the strip pure black and white based on better reference images:

Thanks for your help with this and glad I could chip in
BTW, I think the side art graphic might be the same image but with those simple bones on the sides. If you do the side art it would be great as I could also use that for the coin door front panel on my overlay
Papashine and I are discussing him rendering the speaker panels and other cabinet components in 3D for this too. So we'll have a very complete recreation!

Front bottom area artwork WIP: Vector Trog logo done. Built using the logo on the marquee + flyer logo as reference for missing parts. Also "IN PLAY mation!" text vectorized; used on the sides of coindoor and below the logo.

Work on side art started. The trog figure on top of the coindoor is a crop of the side art ... plus a stone coin ! Very low res pic; barely visible, there's a (trog?) face on the coin itself.

Thanks to Arsinvictus, that took close-up pics of the real cab, let me introduce you to Mr Trog !
Fully redrawn in vectors; quite tricky as the beard and hair are sort of overlapping paint strokes of different colors. Those smoothed colors aren't ideal to be represented with vectors. Image still needs some polishing but almost there.

Thanks for sharing! Yeah, that panel is huge... I'll have to consider how to do this and fit the front panel art in as well, but I'll make use of your panel if possible.
