Mame for windows XP

Hi Noob here, trying to build a MAME machine out of spare junk lying around I hate waste, anyhow I hope somebody can help, I have a PC/104 specs in link

I have got XP Pro loaded, but error message saying Direct 3D not found when MAME has started, the GPU on the PC104 is a Geode LX800 2D engine, is there a MAME version that will work on such a low spec machine, XP runs quite well, albeit I cannot update obviously. any help is appreciated. thanks in advance

Make sure you have DirectX 9.0c installed:
