MAMEWorld site ban some region ?

I don't know why, and it happens for a while.
According some tests, connections from Taiwan, Iran, Vietnam and Singapore got banned.
Could someone tell us why need VPN to check MAMEWorld.info ?

I know everybody don't like spam. And Taiwan was king of spammer many years ago.
Hope that we will not have a day MAMEWorld ban US.

Oh, not this shit again. US is the second biggest source of spam after China in absolute numbers, and the largest source of spam per capita. US is a bigger source of spam that Taiwan or VN by a large margin. If it’s about the actions of the group as a whole, it would make more sense to ban the US.
edit: I'm not in a mood to put up with any “blame the dirty Chinese” shit given what’s going on in Australia. There’s a big increase in abuse directed at anyone of vaguely east Asian appearance blaming them for the coronavirus outbreak. You know what the two biggest sources of it are? People arriving from the US who were infected there, and people who were infected on cruise ships. Yet white Australians are taking it out on random Asian Australians who haven’t even left the country recently. I’m really sick of the bullshit. The US needs to get its own house in order.

My country (Mexico) got banned a while ago because the site suffered an insane amount of spam and DDOS attacks that originated from several places, so the admins blocked a bunch of countries; the bans were lifted but it turned out we were left in it, so I finally contacted the admins and got help late last year. This might be related to that. (Not sure about Iran, though, that might be because of the sanctions thing.)
