Illegal hardware instruction after compiling on MAC OS
#384550 - 12/07/19 07:37 PM

Hello all!

Just updated for the last MAC OS System Catalina 10.15 and after compiling the GIT repo on my laptop and lauching mame I got an error like Illegal hardware instruction !

If I try the main executable from SDL MAME web it will runs fine but using my own compiled version its doesbt works.

Any idea?

Is the error "like" "Illegal hardware instruction !" or is it "Illegal hardware instruction !"? What type of Mac are you running? How did you compile MAME? What was the command you used to compile it?

Help us help you figure out why it "doesbt" work.

That error is new. You need to make sure you have the LANGUAGE folder in your sources and wherever you may be running your binary - make sure your .ini has the proper folder set up for it.

Well I still bet that is an issue with new update from last Catalina OS and Xcode tools!
Would be good if another person try to compile it on last Apple MAC OS enviroment!
Anyway my MAC is an old model and I´m running the latest OS with a patch from DOSDUDE so that the point if someone can try compile it on a new hardware with a really good install from a new MAC with the new software and see if the problem persists.

Thx.
