I hope a similar exploit could be used to obtain the 64K of internal Flash ROM from the P89C51RD2 on Blockout (TAX), which has no external program code.

it was sent to them, although I don't know the status; flash parts can often differ significantly in their internals, so it's possible none of this is applicable.
i'm curious about that one too tho, it's possible the worst implementation of breakout ever seen, so I'd say almost certainly hiding some kind of gambling game (unless they shipped the boards with this, so that the MCU could be swapped later to such a thing)
games of such low quality do exist (see Ping Pong Masters '93) but usually they have more secrets, especially when they're dated 2000+
