Eh, I'd rather see a good quality stick be sold than another disappointing, half-baked emu running console.

Yea, well, that's how stupid I am. I was thinking NEW console, not a remake or emu
"A Next-Gen NEOGEO hardware is coming after NEOGEO Mini."
WTF is next-gen about a damn control stick?

Were you expecting a Hyper Neo Geo 64 Mini perhaps?

Are you trolling me? The Tweet said "Next-Gen". Why would I think about remaking old shit?

Compatible with consoles, PC, and their own NeoGeo mini. And possibly the next generation of systems.
SNK is in NO financial condition to create a new system. No one but the big three (and those people running scam kickstarters) can do that at the moment. They're finally gaining popularity again, their games are well received and have few gameplay issues (other than their netcode for some reason) and their arcade versions of console games are doing okay, too. Why bother making your own hardware when you can use existing one?

That has always been SNK's philosophy since 1990... to the point a game system survived more than 12 years with a bankrupt in between. :P

SNK wasn't really successful with their own hardware platforms. They contracted out design of the Neo Geo to Alpha Denshi (ADK). The Hyper Neo Geo 64 was such a failure that the Neo Geo (in cost-reduced form) outlived it by years. When they eventually switched to a new arcade platform, it was Sega/Sammy Atomiswave.

And with the buttons in the incorrect order, just like that Neo Geo Mini crap.

Not surprising, it's intended to work with said Neo Geo Mini crap.

You can configure the buttons in the built-in emulator.

Another reason why they should have left them as in the original.
