Casio RZ1 drum sampler status in 2023 *edit*

While Haze was messing around with:
I Can Play Piano - Piano Favorites (c)2007 Fisher Price / Mattel (preliminary)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_2wY_22mxQ
Casio RZ1 emulation improved significantly in 2022 since DarkMoe's video clip showed various items that had been first emulated in 2018 including Casio RZ1 system.
My 2018 post shows a few links about the Casio product.
Here is current 2023 status of Casio RZ-1 which lists items still yet to be done.

Casio RZ-1
Sampling drum machine
Sound ROM info:
Each ROM chip holds 1.49s of sounds and can be opened as raw PCM data: signed 8-bit, mono, 20,000 Hz.
* Sound A: Toms 1~3, Kick, Snare, Rimshot, Closed Hi-Hat, Open Hi-Hat, and Metronome Click (in that order).
* Sound B: Clap, Ride, Cowbell, and Crash (in that order).
Note: Holding EDIT/RECORD, DELETE, INSERT/AUTO-COMPENSATE and CHAIN/BEAT at startup causes the system to go into a RAM test.
TODO: - Metronome - Make audio input generic (core support needed)
==
In case wanting to know what is yet to be done with RZ1 emulation,
Espen Kraft made a good tutorial video clip that shows features in RZ1 not yet emulated.
- Casio RZ-1 The sweetest 8 bit sampler and drum machine
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVVT61vIS4Q -
The clip is informative of showing the metronome feature and MIDI input feature that are an important part of the Casio drum sampler. The melodic sample demonstration near end of video clip that shows how drum sampler is used is impressive by itself. Video is worth watching as well as his other video clips from his page.

btw: If this drum sampler unit could be emulated/preserved, this would be the tops. This unit sounds better compared to many of the other units out there.
Böhm Digital-Drums | German Linndrum | Free samples included
Dr.Böhm, the organ manufacturer released this "German LinnDrum" in 1983 under the name Böhm Digital-Drums. Extraordinary disco vibes can be had from these lo-fi, but still glittering drums. They come best to life when sequenced internally from this unit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpTOQ6QMVf0

Starter pic... redo the text so that we can read it... define the buttons... etc.

RELAX and just have fun. Remember, it's all about the games.

Great find there and thanks too.
My 2003 Sony Vaio computer would choke and quit working if trying to run Photoshop LE with that image size if doing edits. It has already stopped working with (last working release iirc .175) recent versions of MAME because it is extremely way out of date.

While src/mame/drivers/ymtx81z.cpp will still be getting future updates in order to be working...
SYST(1987, tx81z, 0, 0, tx81z, tx81z, ymtx81z_state, empty_init, "Yamaha", "TX81Z FM Tone Generator", MACHINE_IS_SKELETON)
...let's look at this already emulated system that is listed as working.
CONS( 1986, fb01, 0, 0, fb01, fb01, fb01_state, empty_init, "Yamaha", "FB-01 FM Sound Generator", MACHINE_SUPPORTS_SAVE ) -
I wonder if this unit description should be updated from CONS to SYST
Anyway, here some decent video examples of what the Yamaha FB-01 unit can do. And since it is considered in working shape, maybe someone with decent computer that can run MAME and knows how to work with Yamaha FB-01 can show how it performs in MAME?
It's too bad that some external artwork image doesn't exist yet even though the Yamaha FB-01 is considered to be in working shape in MAME.
