Today when I tried to access that site, I get an error that says "NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID". I don't know if anyone is able to reproduce this or not. I have a feeling it's not from my end.
Thanks

Their web certificate expired today. Go there instead while they fix it:
https://github.com/mamedev/mame/commits
Code:
git.redump.net
Validity Not Before Monday, December 31, 2018, 10:00:58 PM GMT Not After Sunday, March 31, 2019, 10:00:58 PM GMT

Firstly, redump.net is not in any way official. Secondly, it has nothing to do with mameworld.info which coincidentally doesn't even use HTTPS. Thirdly, an expired certificate isn't a security issue, just a lapse in administration.

I suspect the Mameworld report is separate, and actually due to Mameworld not using HTTPS (browsers are starting to make you jump through extra hoops to enter passwords on such sites, telling you that the sites are insecure etc.)

It made me wonder why Firefox web browser was going nuts when trying to visit the site and the web browser responded with warnings instead.
