Please... all 80s-90s arcade games w/ cool new artwork, and all the bonus stuff that recent collections have been able to do. (Will have to wait and see if they are able to get the licensed games).

Not exactly a surprise that these Konami sets are best avoided, a Data East, Seibu or Tad Corp best of the arcades release now that would be something to get excited about.

The product pages say these use HAMSTER Corporation's emulation technology. So if you've played those you know what to expect. (I never have.)
There's also a Contra and a Castlevania set coming up but the Contra set has the horrible original arcade version of Contra, so WTF is that bullshit?
Also thank god DotEmu isn't anywhere near these.

Good news is Hamster's done an amazing job with the Konami stuff on PS4-- the versions of Gradius and Life Force they put out are very solid.
The word I've been hearing is that they've been farming out their stuff to smaller Japanese developers who specialize in emulation. If that's true, it explains quite a bit.
The official site does show the NES version of Super C along with the arcade one so I'm hoping the NES Contra will also show up. It'd be an absolute disaster if they missed out on that one.

Those games were previously $7 each on PS4/Switch where available (e.g. Haunted Castle is on PS4, but not Switch)

Considering those games were released at $7 each on PS4/Switch/XB1/PC (where available; for instance Haunted Castle is on PS4, but not elsewhere) these are actually reasonably priced for solid commercial emulations.
