So I have “basic” computer skills. I downloaded everything, moved games into roms folder, used the audit, nada. Running windows 7. Roms are good, running launchbox, big box with minimal issues. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

As FarnF indicated, no one will respond to you with such vague info that you provided. Or you'll get people that will trash talk you for posting such a vague problem...Here is what you need to provide us in order to help you...
- What version of MAME are you using?
- What games are you trying to play?
- How have you verified that the ROMS are up to date?
- What steps have you taken before you ran into a problem?
- What exactly is the problem? Post any error messages
- Have you tried running the games through MAME itself, rather than through a 3rd party front-end?

Ditch Launchbox for now until you learn more of how MAME works, & use the built-in UI. Much easier & it works just fine. All you have to do is run the the mame64.exe & choose a target for emulation. Then report back with all the info they told you & see if someone can help you from there. I am going to bet it's a Launchbox thing & not a MAME thing giving you problems.
