I've been enjoying the look of this the last couple of days I've worked on tweaking settings. It might be too dark for some but on my display it looks really good depending on game chosen.
Feedback, opinions, insults, welcome
Enjoy!

I checked it out, for me the settings looked good on Capcom machines on my system, might borrow the settings for those.
Thanks

I would think that gamma value would make things too dull for you. 1.00 is generally too light to begin with.

At first glance I can understand why you'd think that but the high bloom value compensates for low gamma value.
Unfortunately, the Bloom Processing Options seem to be missing when using BGFX, so I'm unable to get an exact reproduction using that.
If anyone's display is too dark after applying this file then of course they can manually add gamma and such to get a look that they're happy with. Perhaps 0.700 - 0.750 might be best.

Wait, MAME's gamma is inverted? That's weird.

I should've said before that another key is the activation of bloom_blend_mode. I'm pretty sure this setting is overlooked or left at it's default and people try to tweak around that.

I decided to try and improve my raster.ini while my kids played on my GM + CRT setup.
I feel like this looks really good and it's very close to heading in the right direction. I just need to figure out how to give it some "vector pop" even though we're talking about raster games here.
For those that try it, tell me what ya think
I recommend to extract to both the ini folder and ini\presets just to be sure that it takes effect.
