Joystick input lag - such a thing?
#370007 - 09/30/17 02:34 PM

Is this an issue within MAME and, if so, are there any settings (or other things) that help to minimize this?

It's just that I've noticed a very slight delay between pressing the joystick - and then being acted upon within MAME. I'm guessing there is a lot of processing going on in-between.

I generally have 'Wait For vsync' and 'Refresh speed' enabled' within the Options.

Am using MAMEUI32 0.181 under Windows 10 together with a DELL LCD monitor (sorry).

Any advice to reduce lag appreciated.

Thanks

Wireless or USB. Wireless sometimes have a lag when not fully charge up or battery is going bad. I notice that when I use a wireless that is low. USB are much better to use.

Vsync will give you input lag. I would turn that off. And don't synchronize with the refresh rate. That option shouldn't exist.
